Playoffs or Bust

Well Stars fans, it’s that time of the year again where the race in the Central division is intensifying and each team claws and scrapes for every point. So many teams are bunched up right now, it could be very likely the division sends five of its teams to the Stanley Cup Playoffs in April. As of right now the Stars hold the top wild card spot in the Western Conference with 80 points, only trailing Minnesota by three. But there is still a mix of five teams that are within five points with less than 15 games remaining. The Stars have struggled of late, but  managed to have some late heroics in order to salvage some key points. March is set up to be their toughest schedule of the year so far. The next two could end up being the most important as they face the Anaheim Ducks tonight and the Pittsburgh Penguins on Sunday who are both seeded in the top three of their divisions. Anaheim got the best of them last month, so look out for an intense game from one of the best home teams this year of the Stars. Hopefully Ben Bishop will return soon to be in between the pipes for that one. The Stars stole one from Pittsburgh during their last road trip to Dallas in a shootout. I’m expecting a playoff like atmosphere at PPG Paints arena this upcoming weekend.

Things will be very interesting to see how things shape up in the Western Conference during the home stretch. Lets hope to see Dallas make their way in because I will definitely be at the American Airlines Center for game 1 or 3 to watch some good ol’ playoff hockey.
