On Monday, Baltimore Ravens quarterback and Super Bowl 47 MVP Joe Flacco became the highest paid NFL player in history by average annual value with his new six-year, $120.6 million contract. Flacco gets a guaranteed $52 million his first three years under the new contract. Flacco celebrated by stopping by McDonalds and ordering a ten piece McNuggets combo, complete with fries and an unsweetened iced tea. The deal came after Flacco impressed the organization, by throwing a Hail Mary against the heavily favorited Denver Broncos to win the Divisional Round of the AFC playoffs. Flacco then went on to carry the team to a victory over the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship Game. After throwing 22 touchdowns and 10 interceptions in the regular season, Flacco threw 11 touchdowns and zero interceptions in the postseason. He led the Ravens to the second Super Bowl victory in franchise history, with a 34-31 victory over the San Francisco 49ers.
