The baseball team has continued to struggle this season as they have lost six consecutive games, falling to 2-9 in district play with three games remaining in the season. Tonight, the team will go up against the first place Allen Eagles, who currently have a 8-3 district record.

In the first game of the series, on Tuesday night, the Panthers were defeated by a score of 15-2, after the game was called in the 5th inning due to the run rule. Pitchers Theron Afseth and Hayden Smith, each combined for twelve earned runs, while Caleb Hines gave up three. There wasn’t much to show for on the offensive end besides a combined two runs batted in by senior Andrew Mills and freshman Colton Shaw.

Tonight, the team looks to split the series and not fall into last place of the district.

“We are looking to come together and get a win tonight,” senior Roshan Damodaran said. “We know Allen is in first place and we are not afraid of them.”
