With the first game this Friday, Aug. 30, the football team is ready to go on the field and win in new Head Coach Randy Jackson’s debut. Jackson, who came over to East after taking a 2-18(win-loss) Poteet (Mesquite) team in the two seasons prior, left Poteet with a 30-9 over the past three seasons. Jackson was hired after former Athletic Director Johnny Ringo resigned last June. Ringo is now the athletic director of Highland Park Independent School District, after coaching the football team to a 51-46 record over the course of the previous nine years. Jackson brings in a new regime that is filled with inspirational tweets and mysterious acronyms, i.e. T.P.W. Jackson looks to open his Plano East coaching career with a victory over the Garland Owls when the teams play at 7:30 P.M. at Williams (Garland) Stadium.
