The Dallas Cowboys once again disappointed when they failed to make the playoffs, losing to the Washington Redskins in the NFC East Championship Game. Dallas never got hot late down the stretch and finished 3rd in the four-team division. The question remains: What went wrong? The Cowboys’ main concern was their lack of consistency. The Cowboys gained a lot of momentum after the Pittsburgh Steelers game, but failed to capitalize against the suspension-plagued New Orleans Saints and later against the equally as talented Washington Redskins, the Cowboys’ archrival. The ‘Boys also never got a running game going after the first game. DeMarco Murray, the Cowboys’ star running back, got injured in Week 6 of the season at the loss to Baltimore. Felix Jones, the Cowboys’ backup running back, had a season-high in that game with 92 yards. Dallas looks forward to next season with championship aspirations, but fans should be wary. Next season the ‘Boys hope to make the playoffs, but with all the past years, devout fans should not purchase 2014 Super Bowl tickets.
