Junior Myles Hawkins will play for varsity football next year; everyone knows that, it’s what happens when people are not looking when Hawkins improves.
“Not many people understand the rigor of football,” Hawkins said. “We start out with tons of people but it dwindles down to a select few.”
Hawkins, who plays cornerback, expects to contend for one of the starting positions after the long offseason.
“I believe I am a qualified candidate for the starting spot next year,” Hawkins said. “I’m creating a stronger work ethic everyday.”
Hawkins believes that he and the few that make it will have challenges up ahead.
“Plano West has a star running back…Allen is always a great team, Plano is on the rise,” Hawkins said.
However, according to Hawkins, with Lionel Wills, Shawn Franks, a returning Offensive Line, and a rowdy deep defense, they won’t let you down.
