Anthony Maioriello, a star on this year’s Varsity squad, says that he is “very upset” about missing playoffs. He also looks forward to next season, “ What can you do now, you can’t hold this (missing playoffs) against ourselves,” and hopes to make the playoffs next season. “We pushed every last ounce in our bodies to fight for that last playoff spot,” Maioriello says, “and there’s no doubt in me when I say that we fought until the last second.” Maioriello laments the loss of the seniors, “I’m going to remember all of the seniors…I’ve never had better role models in my life than these seniors.” Anthony Maioriello also said, “One of my favorite moments was during the West game, and how at halftime Cooper Sanders got on everybody about how this could be the last time the seniors would ever wear these Plano East shoulder pads an d helmets.” Maioriello says, “that really got to some people,” but he says he was numb to it,”I don’t think it really sunk in.” However, don’t count out Plano East next year, “ I congratulate Allen, Plano, and Plano West for getting into the playoffs, but that just gives us extra time to prepare for next season.” Anthony Maioriello says.
