Lindsey Spillman, a senior, has watched many of her friends drop out from the Plano East National Honors Society. Spillman says you just need to keep grades up, stay honest to stay in the club. Spillman has kept up with NHS hours by, “ helping teachers, canned food drives, cheering at the Special Olympics,” which has helped her “establish new relationships.” Spillman also says, “It(NHS) looks good because it requires good grades, good behavior, and volunteering.” Lindsey Spillman says that NHS requires “12 hours a semester, 18 for new members.” Spillman also said that, “I have never had a problem getting my hours,” something that NHS members often stress about.
