Tennis began it’s 2016-2017 season with a win against Wylie 17-2 on Tuesday, Aug. 27.

The team had the match in control for most of the evening, as several of the sets ended in wins by three or more matches.

For boys doubles, Senior Dylan Patel and Senior Winston Centeno  beat their opponents 6-1 in both the first and second sets. On the girls court, Junior Sammy Locke and Junior Richa John took care of business, going on to win 6-1 and 6-2 in the two sets. As for the mixed doubles, Junior Harsh Chuodhary and Junior Danielle Dall’asen won their match 6-1 in the first and 6-4 in the second set.

In the boys singles, Senior Chris Sweetman took down his Wyile opposition 6-0 in both sets. Sophomore Bridget Zhang won her singles match 6-1 in the first set, and 6-0 in the second set.

Being as though the team has a new head coach in John Laura, this first win will increase the overall confidence of the team.

Their next meet is on Friday, Aug. 27 at 4:30 against Hebron and the next home game is Friday, Sept. 2 at 4 p.m. versus The Colony.
