Some people need to take breaks from life, and movies can be where breaks occur. Spring is usually the season in which the big movies of the year start to roll out. March includes Spring Break, so there is a good chance movie revenues will sky rocket because more kids and teenagers will go out and see them. Comedies, action, and sad movies will all be released to the delight of viewers.
This February marks the beginning of the spring season of movies. “The Vow,” starring Channing Tatum and Rachel McAdams will be released on Feb. 10. It tells the story of a married couple who hits tragedy when the woman gets hurt in a car accident and forgets previous years of her life. Over the course of the movie, she must find her way back to remembering her husband (Channing Tatum). On Feb. 17, “This Means War” will be released. Chris Pine and Tom Hardy star as two friends fighting over the same girl (Reese Witherspoon). Also being released on Feb. 17 will be “Ghost Rider: Spirit or Vengeance” featuring Nicholas Cage reprising his role as the motorcycle-riding madman who is out to get revenge on his enemies.
March is a busy month as it includes college basketball tournaments and the ending of the NBA season. Even with those other events occurring, movies are sure to make an impact. March 2 sees the release of “Being Flynn,” which stars Robert De Niro as a homeless man and Paul Dano as his son trying to reconnect with him by working through a series of homeless shelters. On March 16, 21 Jump Street hits the movie theaters. It is based off the old TV show, and it features Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum as undercover cops in a high school trying to catch the kids doing bad things. The Hunger Games comes out on March 23, and it is likely to get plenty of viewers from the people who read the books that the movie is based off of. It is about a variety of teenagers who have to fight to the death on national television. Jennifer Lawrence plays the main teenage girl who chooses to fight instead of letting her sister fight. John Hutcherson, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, and Lenny Kravitz are also others who star in the movie.
Spring movie season might get overshadowed by the summer movie season, but plenty of viewers still go out to watch the movies in the spring. It could be said that the spring movie season being just as important as the summer season is an axiom. Big productions will be released, and the directors or producers hope that their movie(s) get nominated or win at the big movie awards at the end of the year. The most important part is that many people will go out to see them, which is why this Spring should not be a disappointment for movie goers.
